Due to the weather conditions prevailing in the mountainous areas CLOSED for traffic is the road Papoutsas – Alona.
Open ONLY for vehicles equipped with snow chains or with 4 wheel drive are the roads:
Platres – Troodos
Charcoal – Troodos
Prodromou – Troodos
Papoutsas – Agios Theodoros
Pedoulas – Prodromos
Pedoulas – Pinewood – Kakopetrias
Prodromou – Platres
In the remaining mountainous areas the roads are open to all vehicles but slippery.
The Police recommend special attention to those who move on the road network of the mountainous areas, while vehicle drivers are urged to move at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front, and give priority to other passing drivers where needed.
In general, those who will move on the road network are required to comply with traffic signals and comply with the highway code to avoid road accidents.
