At 106% of the normal rainfall from October 1st (start of the hydrological year) is rainfall in the free areas, according to preliminary data released by the Department of Meteorology.
Based on the data, the total rainfall reached 312 mm, compared to the normal (data 1960 -1990) which is 294 mm.
It is noted that the last 24 hours did not give any rainfall in the free areas (until 08:00 this morning). Overall the average price for the month is at 77.3 mm, which corresponds to 75% of the normal for the month of January.
Based on the data so far this morning, the stations that exceeded 100% of the normal rainfall since January 1st are Athienou with 124% and Kornos with 114%, while in Nicosia (Athalassa station) the recorded rainfall reached 49% of normal.
