Day zero is approaching for the Port and Marina of Larnaka with the timetables being respected reverently, and the planning progressing so far, without any delay.
This is what the CEO of Kition Ocean Holdings LTD, Mr. Panos Alexandrou, said, stressing that the cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, the competent departments of the government and Larnaka Municipality is excellent, so the whole project is on a very good path.
Specifically, the construction works are expected to begin immediately after the approval of the renewed master plan of the project and its submission to the town planning. In fact, as Mr. Alexandros estimates, the first bulldozers will enter the Marina on April 1, 2022.
April 1, the CEO of Kition Ocean Holdings said, will be day zero, since the redevelopment of the project will begin immediately.
As he revealed, initially existing buildings will be upgraded to be able to serve boat owners, who will also be able to use applications and software from their mobile phone. Greenery, large sidewalks and new lighting are some of the immediate changes in Larnaka Marina, which will continue to grow.
Mr. Alexandrou assured once again that the mooring fees at the new Larnaka Marina will not be prohibitive for existing users, the majority of whom have already been informed and have expressed their satisfaction for the whole project.
According to the CEO of Kition Ocean Holdings, there will be a modernising of the old dock, a trademark of the city of Zeno, which will acquire 4 kiosks on the water. The building of the Naval Scouts, he explained, will be converted into a museum of photography, while the old crane will be upgraded, which will become the new reference point of the historic dock. Special lighting and beautiful benches will complement the redevelopment project, he said.
At the same time, with the new Marina, added Mr. Alexandrou, the breakwater will grow and artificial reefs will be created, actions that will lead to the upgrading of the Beach of Finikoudes.
Finally, the CEO of Kition Ocean Holdings, indicated that the whole project will be energy self-reliant, will fully ensure the protection and sustainability of the environment and will contribute significantly to the reduction of noise, something that, as he said, is also recorded in the environmental study, which was presented a few days ago at a public hearing.
