OMICRON VARIANT - 21 SYMPTOMS CONFIRMED BY EXPERTS

There are at least twenty-one confirmed symptoms caused by the Omikron variant.

· High temperature

· Constant cough

· Loss or change in sense of smell or taste

Further, some symptoms mentioned are the following:

· Back pain

· Lack of appetite

· Sleep paralysis

· Rash

· Sweats

And while new scientific data are expected, experts point out that the key to treating the patient is to identify the symptoms. One such example is cited by the pulmonologist Dr Sanket Jain, based in Mumbai. One of his patients, explained to the Express, five days ago, was admitted with a lack of appetite, nausea and vomiting. Based on protocol, a molecular PCR test was performed and came out positive. "Such symptoms are currently observed, especially in Omicron infections."

In which cases medical assistance is required

The CDC also lists the symptoms that are considered to be most severe and patients should seek medical attention.

Based on the list, the symptoms are:

· Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

· Confusion

· Drowsiness and problems with waking up

· Pale, grey or blue colour of skin, lips or nails, depending on skin tone.
