The discovery of a red jacket in a car has led police to the arrest of three men in connection with a spate of kiosk robberies in Larnaca and Limassol.

In an announcement on Monday, police said that two 26-year-old men had admitted to one robbery in Larnaca and four in Limassol. Testimony was secured against a 28-year-old Limassol resident who was also arrested.

Police said that at around 4.30 pm on Sunday, officers had stopped a car in Larnaca with three men, two aged 26 and one aged 25. The car was searched, and police found a red jacket similar to the one worn by one of the perpetrators of a robbery of a kiosk in Larnaca on January 8 that was caught on CCTV.

During questioning, the two 26-year-olds reportedly admitted to the robbery in Larnaca and four in Limassol between December 29 and January 7. The two were arrested. The 25-year-old was not found to be involved.
