Filenews 31 January 2022
The Ministry of Health, based on the decision of the Council of Ministers dated December 21, 2021, recalls that, as of today, January 31, 2022, the period of validity of the Certificate of Disease is reduced from 180 days to 90 days. The reduction of the time period applies to all holders of the Certificate, regardless of whether they have issued it before that date.
It is clarified that these certificates will continue to be issued through the platform www. eudcc. gov. cy and will be valid for domestic use up to 90 days from the date of the first positive laboratory test, as specified in the relevant decree.
It should be noted that the Certificate of Disease will continue to state a validity of 180 days from the date of the first positive laboratory test, which is the maximum period allowed by the relevant European Regulation and therefore can be used by citizens for travel purposes.
It is noted that in case of travel, the passenger should consult the website or application Re-open EU (reopen.europa.eu) or the national authorities of the country of arrival to be informed of the acceptable validity of the certificate, which is likely to be 180 days or less in other countries.
