The national target is that in 2030 25% of new vehicle registrations will be electric with the ultimate goal of increasing this percentage to 100% by 2035. The huge response of citizens to the Sponsorship Scheme for the Purchase of an Electric Vehicle shows in practice that this goal can be achieved, as the ministry notes.
Evaluation of applications
In the next few days, the evaluation of the applications will begin and the beneficiaries will be informed about the pre-approval of their application. It is recalled that, if the application is pre-approved, the beneficiary has two months to submit proof of order of the new/used electric vehicle and a time limit of 12 months for registration of the electric vehicle. The sponsorship is given upon registration of the vehicle, within 12 months of the final approval.
Purchase of Electric Bicycle
In addition to car transportation, the next steps of the Ministry of Transport include the Sponsorship Plan for the Purchase of an Electric Bicycle that will be implemented on January 17, 2022. More details will be announced at a later stage.
