One death was announced from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 731.
211 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized, of which 74 are in serious condition. 76.31% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.
19 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases) continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
2,225 (positivity rate: 2.61%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified from 85,303 tests - molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 253,350.
It is worth noting that another 20 cases were detected in nursing homes.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The 1 death announced with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19, concerns:
- A man, aged 88, who died on January 29 at Nicosia General Hospital.
As a result, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 731, of which:
- 457 men (62.5%), and
- 274 women (37.5%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 76.2 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 211 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 74 are in serious condition or in conditions of PPE.
Of the 74 patients who are in serious condition, 32 are intubated, 8 are hospitalized in an Intensive Care Unit off the ventilator and 34 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 85,303 diagnoses performed, 4,542 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 80,761 by the antigen rapid test method, 2,225 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 39 cases from 466 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 61 cases from 2,623 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 97 cases from 1,070 samples were taken through private initiative.
- 6 cases from 179 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 863 cases from 30,796 samples examined by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 1,156 cases from 49,965 samples examined by the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health's program.
- 3 cases from 204 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Doctors and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
