The average amount of rainfall, which fell in the free areas from December to the morning of December 14, rose to 45% of normal for December, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by the Department of Meteorology.
Specifically, according to the data, the average total amount of rainfall from December 1 to the morning of December 14 rose to 47.7 mm, compared to 105.6 mm, which is the normal rainfall for the month.
The largest amount of rainfall during the same period occurred in the Larnaka airport area with 90.6 mm corresponding to 105% of the normal rainfall for the month of December.
They are followed by Xylotympou with 54 mm which corresponds to 65% of the normal, Stavros tis Psokas with 98.9 mm which corresponds to 61% of the normal and Pano Panayia with 87.7 mm, which is 55% of the normal.
On the contrary, according to the data of the Department of Meteorology, the smallest amount of rainfall during the period 1 December to 14th December occurred in Lythrodontas with 19 mm which corresponds to 20% of the normal for the month, in the area of Athalassa Nicosia with 22.6 mm to 39% of the normal for the month and in Athienou with 23.6 mm which also corresponds to 39% of the normal rainfall.
