As of Monday, December 20, at 11 a.m., phase A of the Electric Vehicle Sponsorship Schemes of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works will be implemented. As announced, Phase A will run from December 20, 2021 to January 3, 2022, and a budget of €8 million will be made available.
Interested parties will be able to submit their applications online through the website www.ev.gov.cy. It is clarified that applications will be examined on a first-come, first-served basis based on the date of their submission.
The Scheme concerns the purchase of a new or used electric vehicle and the beneficiaries are both individuals and professionals and legal entities.
Specifically, the amounts that will be allocated for the purpose of purchasing a new electric vehicle range from €9,000 to €19,000.

The Plan also provides for the following: the purchase of a new electric large bus with an amount amounting to €100,000, the purchase of a new electric minibus with an amount of €40,000, the purchase of a new electric commercial vehicle with an amount of €20,000, as well as the purchase of a new electric bicycle or a four-wheeled micro-car, or a moped or tricycle, or a motorcycle or a light quadricycle vehicle with an amount of €1,500.
In relation to the purchase of a used electric vehicle, the sponsorship amounts start from €4,000 and reach €12,000.

In addition, both in the case of purchase of a new and in the case of purchase of a used electric vehicle, the applicant may, if he wishes, withdraw an old vehicle, more than 12 years old, and receive an additional sponsorship of €1,000.
Finally, it is noted that, if the application is pre-approved, the beneficiary has two months to submit proof of order of the new / used electric vehicle and a time limit of 12 months for registration of the electric vehicle. The sponsorship is given upon registration of the vehicle, within 12 months from the pre-approval.
