Two dogs were found hanging with wire by their owner in the area of Lythrodontas.
As the Green Movement states in a statement:
"These dogs had been declared by their owner that they had disappeared from their place of residence a few days ago and he was looking for them.
The murdered dogs were spotted by the owner along with his underage son. These cruel images of dead dogs, still having the wire on their necks, caused mental anguish to both the owner and the child. Obviously the dogs were placed in a specific place that would be sure to be found by their owner.
The case has already been reported to the Police and is being investigated by the Nicosia Animal Police. As the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation, we condemn the new barbaric and criminal act against animals and call for the case to be fully clarified so that it can be brought to justice. For the umpteenth time we stress that such crimes against animals must be punishable by very serious penalties by the courts so that these penalties play a deterrent role.
We will monitor the progress of the case, stressed the manager of the Action Group for Animals of the Movement, Mrs. Anthi Mouzouri, until justice is done for these souls. It is inconceivable, he also stressed, that in the year 2021 we will be witnesses of such horrific crimes against animals and finally this must stop if we want to be called a civilized people."
