On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Wednesday, April 14, 2021, improvement works will be carried out at the Kornos junction. The works will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the highway, for entry on the highway from Korno / Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno / Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance side, from Korno / Pyrga to Limassol.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the direction of Nicosia, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 and for a period of about two (2) months, at the Kornos Junction, works will be carried out to improve the existing exit from Limassol to Kornos. During the works, the left lane before the exit of Kornos to the highway in the direction of Nicosia will be closed for about 400m. and the traffic to Nicosia will be diverted to the right lane. In the province of Limassol, in a section of the Parekklisia - Kellaki road on Grigori Afxentiou Street, from Monday 01/11/2021 - 31/12/2021, a Private Contracting Company will carry out the installation of a Pipeline for the construction of a Sewerage Network. of SALA. During the works, one lane of the road will be closed in a length of approximately 120 m and the traffic will be managed alternately with the operation of a mobile system of temporary traffic lights. On the old road Nicosia-Limassol, in the period 22/10/2021 - 31/12/2021, every day except Sundays and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 - 16:00, construction works of water pipes will be carried out by the Department of Water Development. During the works, part of one lane of the road, from the ‘Hoirokoitia reservoir’ to the TAY pumping station in Kofinou, in the direction of Kofinou, will be partially closed in a length of 100m. about (with a total length of about 850m.) and the traffic will be in the adjacent lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights. Also on the old road Nicosia-Limassol, in the context of the construction works of Phase 1 of the road network of the Vasilikos Energy Centre, in the period 24/10/2021 - 23/4/2022, the eastern road that connects the road with the port of Vasilikos will is closed to traffic. During the works, part of a traffic lane, the old road Nicosia - Limassol, from the 'Pig Reservoir' to the WFD pumping station in Kofinou, in the direction of Kofinou, will be partially closed in a length of about 100 meters (total length 2500 meters, approximately) and the traffic will take place in the adjacent traffic lane with the use of temporary traffic lights.
