A 30-year-old suspect was brought before the Limassol District Court on Sunday morning in connection with the double murder committed on November 17th at the country house in Kardama.

According to what was heard in court after the confession of the 32-year-old assailant, various persons were called to the ICU of Limassol for questioning among them and the 30-year-old suspect. The suspect said he is a friendly face with the confessed assailant.

After being interrogated, cheek swabs were taken from him. In his testimony, the 30-year-old said he met on November 13 at night at a spot in Limassol where he gave cigarettes and drinks to the 32-year-old while in the vehicle, he said, he had seen the two women.

He also said the vehicle was being followed by two persons aboard a blue vehicle. He also claimed that on November 13 he stayed overnight with his mother-in-law. He also said the last time he saw with 32-year-old that it was on November 13.

From the evidence received from the country house and sent to the Genital Institute, it emerged that genetic material (DNA) is identified with evidence of him and one of the victims. After this development, the 30-year-old was arrested.

Questioned for the second time, the 30-year-old said that in his initial testimony he lied. He said that on November 13 at around 9pm, he also went to the country house where the 32-year-old was with the two women and the other two persons.

The suspect appeared in court without a lawyer, and asked if he had an objection, he said he would help authorities.

The court approved the police's request and ordered the suspect's detention for a period of eight days.
