With a delay of a few months from its initial planning, Cyprus Airways officially announced its new route, which connects Larnaca Airport with London Heathrow Airport (Terminal 2). The flights, based on the company's initial schedule, would be daily and would start from September 10, 2021. In fact, the company had also proceeded with pre-sales of tickets. However, for a reason that the company did not make public, this was not possible, since the flights will finally start in February 2022 and will not be on a daily basis.

Specifically, flights to London Heathrow Airport, the busiest airport in Europe, are scheduled to start from 1 February 2022, with three weekly flights, every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Flights to London will depart from Larnaca in the morning, an ideal time for someone who wishes to spend a whole day in London. For the record, let's say that the state-owned Cyprus Airways, in 2014, took the big decision to sell the slots in Heathrow and continued flights to London via Stansted Airport, which was the beginning of the company's end. However, in winter, based on its renewed flight schedule, the Cyprus airline, based in Larnaca, will operate flights to Greece, the United Kingdom, Russia, Lebanon and Israel. It should be remembered that, recently, Cyprus Airways was acquired by the SJC Group, based in Malta and operating operations throughout Africa and the Middle East. In total, Cyprus Airways connects Larnaca, through its international network, with 11 destinations: Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Skiathos, Preveza, Prague, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tel Aviv, Beirut, Malta and now London.
