BOOSTER FOR 18+ FROM 8 DECEMBER

 Filenews 7 December 2021

Vaccination with a booster/3rd dose for people aged 18 years and over starts tomorrow, provided that a period of six months has elapsed since the completion of their vaccination regimen (2nd dose in the case of Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines or one dose of the Johnson&Johnson vaccine). The decision was taken by the Council of Ministers on 15 November with the aim of shielding the adult population.

For better service, beneficiaries will be able, from December 8, to arrange an appointment through the Vaccination Portal or be served through the free-to-go vaccination centres (walk-in), without arranging an appointment in advance.

The walk-in centres are open in all provinces, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For people who have received the Johnson's single-way vaccine &Johnson the service is only at the walk-in vaccination centres [ie you cannot book on the portal].

The vaccination of citizens who are not registered in the GHS software is carried out every Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It is recalled that people who received the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccine during the initial vaccination will receive the same vaccine for the booster dose. People who were initially vaccinated with AstraZeneca will be able to choose an mRNA technology vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna). Finally, people who received the Johnson&Johnson's single-way vaccine will be able to be vaccinated with either an mRNA vaccine or the Johnson&Johnson vaccine.

All individuals must necessarily present proof of identification (ID card, passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.), as well as the vaccination card, if they are people who will receive the 2nd or 3rd dose.
