The Ministry of Health announces that today, November 30, 2021, 3 people have died from COVID-19, while 613 are the new positive cases of the disease.
- 3 people have died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 597.
- 118 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 51 are in serious condition. 65.82% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.
- 2 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 85,244 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 613 (positivity rate: 0.72% new cases of COVID-19 were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 134,473.
Today's results are detailed.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The 3 people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19, concern:
- A man, aged 58, who ended up on November 30th in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Woman, aged 75, who ended up on November 30th in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- A man, aged 72, who ended up on November 29th in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 is 597, of which:
- 383 men (64.2%), and
- 214 women (35.8%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 75.8 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 118 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 51 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 51 patients who are in serious condition, 18 are intubated, 3 are hospitalized in an Off-Ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 30 are hospitalized in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 85,244 diagnoses performed, 8,361 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 76,883 by the antigen rapid test method, 613 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 97 cases from 788 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 10 cases from 5,015 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 87 cases from 2,062 samples taken through private initiative.
- 6 cases from 285 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 259 cases from 44,835 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 153 cases from 31,882 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 0 cases from 209 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Doctors and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
- 0 cases from 2 samples taken as part of checks in closed facilities.
