No deaths of patients were recorded, with the final cause of death being COVID-19, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 630, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health.
2241 (positivity rate: 2.29%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified, after conducting 98,047 tests - molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests - recording a record number of new cases in Cyprus and bringing the total number to 154,926.
Hospitalizations remain stable, as according to the announcement, 168 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 84 are in serious condition. 80.96% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.
- 15 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 98,047 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 630, of which:
- 402 men (63.8%), and
- 227 women (36.2%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 75.9 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 168 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 84 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 84 patients who are in serious condition, 27 are intubated, 8 are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 49 are hospitalized in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 98,047 diagnoses performed, 11,803 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 86,244 by the antigen rapid test method, 2241 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 220 cases from 1,671 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 76 cases from 5,643 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 389 cases from 4,068 samples taken through private initiative.
- 26 cases from 366 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1046 cases from 60,052 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 483 samples from 26,192 samples tested using the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
- 1 case from 55 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Doctors and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
