The proposal of the Minister of Health, Mr. Michalis Hadjipantelas, was approved at today's meeting by the Council of Ministers, regarding the provision of a booster dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 to people aged 18 years and over, provided that a period of six months has necessarily elapsed since the completion of their vaccination regimen (from the administration of 2nd) dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines or from the administration of the monododosic vaccine of Johnson&Johnson).
The decision of the Council of Ministers arises after a recommendation to the Minister of Health on behalf of the National Vaccination Advisory Committee, which in a recent meeting recommended by a majority the initiation of the vaccination process with a booster dose of the entire adult population.
More details on the exact start date and how the vaccination procedure with a booster dose will be done will be announced in the coming days.
