The war in the GHS is raging and the "camps" began to clear up, although all those involved declare their support for the System and its philosophy. The scene yesterday was explosive from early in the morning, as all those involved paraded from television and radio stations exchanging fire between them, while until the afternoon parties, organizations and other bodies issued announcements defending the System. As expected, the submission of amendments to the basic legislation of the GHS by the president of EDEK to the Parliament, turned the fire of the majority of those involved against Marinos Sizopoulos.
On the government's side, the President of the Republic put an end to what has been said over the last twenty-four hours about intentions, making it clear that he will not accept any intervention that would alter the philosophy of a system unanimously adopted by the House of Representatives. At the same time DISY and AKEL exchanged fire, both declaring faith in the philosophy of the System. The DIKO for the first time in recent days through its MPs announced that changes in the philosophy of the GHS will not support, while the tension within EDEK after the submission of an amendment to the legislation by Marinos Sizopoulos, became even greater yesterday, with the general secretary of DEOK referring to "mega-doctors who stayed outside the GHS so that they could evade taxes".
The OSO and organized patients, made new efforts to explain the reasons why the amendment tabled in Parliament, which provides that doctors outside the GHS will have the right to prescribe within the System, alters the philosophy of the System, while putting it at risk of collapse.
