SCHEDULE FOR THE POPE'S VISIT

Ecumenical prayer with immigrants at the Catholic Church of the Holy Cross at Pafos Gate in Nicosia will be held by Pope Francis during his official visit to Cyprus. In the event hall of the Presidential he will have an audience also with diplomats and parties.

The programme of Pope Francis' official visit to Cyprus from 2-4 December was released yesterday. According to this, on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. he will arrive at Larnaka International Airport, where the official reception ceremony will take place. At 4:00 p.m. he will have a meeting with priests, deacons, catechists, ecclesiastical associations and movements of Cyprus, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Graces, in Nicosia, where he will give a greeting.

At 5:15 p.m. the official welcome ceremony will take place at the Presidential Palace and 15 minutes later there will be a ceremonial meeting with the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, at the Presidential Palace. At 6:00 p.m. he will meet with the authorities, civil society and diplomats, in the event hall of the Presidential Palace, where he will address a greeting. On Friday, December 3rd, at 08:30 a.m. he will have a ceremonial meeting with the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II, at the Holy Archdiocese. At 9:00 a.m. he will meet with the Holy Synod at the Orthodox Cathedral in Nicosia. There the Pontiff will address a greeting. At 10 a.m. he will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the GSP Stadium where he will address the gathered.

At 4:00 p.m. he will pray ecumenical prayers with immigrants at the Catholic Church of the Holy Cross, in Nicosia.

On Saturday, December 4 at 9:10 a.m. the farewell ceremony will take place at Larnaka International Airport and 20 minutes later he will depart for Athens. His contacts there include a visit to a refugee reception.
