Following the repeated accidents involving the special buggy vehicles (quad-vehicles), the Ministry of Transport is considering additional measures for drivers.
As Mr. Karousos stated to "F", a meeting with the Police will be held soon on the matter in order to record the problem and discuss measures to be taken in order to protect drivers. One of the thoughts that are being made, said the Minister, is whether those on board a buggy should wear special equipment, which will be supplied by the person who rents them the vehicle. Also, at this time, everyone can rent such a vehicle. Consideration will be given to whether changes can be made to this issue, and the issue of out-of-court documents issued to tourists by drivers of such vehicles who leave without paying for them should be resolved.
In addition, Mr. Karousos referred to the need to find ways to improve the safety of drivers and passengers of such vehicles, so as not to lose other lives.
