IN 10 DAYS €330,000 WAS COLLECTED FROM WARRANTS - and how to see on JCC if you have any outstanding issues/debts to the state

Filenews 9 November 2021 - by Michalis Hadjivasilis

In 10 days the Police managed to collect €330,000, executing 2,107 fine warrants. This is after the intensification of efforts by the local competent police stations, following a meeting that preceded it at the Ministry of Justice.

The Police proceeded to the appointment of a senior officer, Andreas Angelidis, who has undertaken the supervision and control for the execution of the warrants. Letters were immediately sent to the provincial warrant collection agencies, as they intensified their efforts and, as he stated, it was requested that those who owe large sums of money and especially those who manage to escape, be identified. The €330,000 was collected during the period 25/10/2021 - 4/11/2021, while the actions of the Police will continue after it has been established that some who have the ability to pay their prices, however, escape and do not pay. There is also the procedure for the payment of debts by instalments, in order to facilitate those who are unable to pay the full amount.

In the meantime, a measure to determine whether the citizen has debts to the state has been taken by the Police. As stated by the Police, in order to facilitate citizens to inform them about any outstanding issues or debts to the state, it has already proceeded, in cooperation with JCCsmart, so that anyone who visits the JCC page can easily and quickly determine whether they have any outstanding financial debts.

JCC Smart Police

The procedure that the citizen can follow is as follows: After entering the homepage of JCCsmart, there appears the category CYPRUS POLICE and then, the subcategory "Warrants Search". When the citizen owner/manager of a company chooses to do so, provided that he/she registers his/her date of birth or the company registration number, he/she can be informed of any pending warrants. In case there are debts, the debtor is informed that he/she will have to go to the nearest Police Station, where he/she will contact for details or clarifications to settle their payment.   Please note that UK is shown as Kingdom, immediately after United States of America.
