Police investigations in Paphos resumed at the first light of day to locate Georgios Kyriakides, aged 59, who has been absent from his home in a village in the Pafos district since Sunday evening.
According to a representative of the Pafos Police Department, the investigations are focused on the areas of Drymos, at the location of Peratis, Stroumbi and Giolou, as the 59-year-old's vehicle was found there on Monday.
The investigations are being carried out with the assistance of members of the Pafos ADE, the Civil Defence, the Therophylakia, with hiking sections, and volunteers, while today the Police helicopter is expected to participate to reinforce the ground forces. Also at some stage, police drones will be used depending on the progress of the examinations.
Some evidence was received from the vehicle of the 59-year-old who was found, and has been scientifically examined, which will be sent for scientific examinations.
According to the Police, the 59-year-old is described as being 1.88m tall. approximately, normal physique. On his departure he wore a dark long-sleeved shirt with white stripes and white long trousers.
The complaint was made to the Police by his relatives when after the departure of the 59-year-old from 8 o'clock on Sunday, he did not return.

59-year-old George Kyriakides, who had been absent from the residence since last Sunday, was found dead this morning. The body of the unfortunate man was found by a flying vehicle that participated in the investigations today, in a ravine in the area of the community of Drymos.
The unlucky Kyriakides was spotted at a point located only a few kilometres from the point where his car was located on Monday. The tragic outcome of the investigations was marked by the air search of the Police helicopter, which found the 59-year-old unconscious in a ravine. They immediately alerted the hiking sections that participated in the investigations and rushed to the spot, to find out that the unfortunate Kyriakides was already dead.
The body was transferred to Paphos Hospital where the legalized necrotomy that will clarify the cause of death will be performed in the next few days.
