No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 588, according to the Ministry of Health's announcement.
Today, according to the announcement, a total of 66,696 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test, of which 354 (positivity rate: 0.53%) of covid-19 have been identified.
It is noted that 88 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 39 are in serious condition. 67.05% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination, while 3 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Today's results are detailed.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 588, of which:
- 376 men (64%), and
- 212 women (36%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 76 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 88 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 39 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 39 patients who are in serious condition, 13 are intubated, one is hospitalized in an Off-Ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 25 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 66,696 diagnoses performed, 4,219 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 62,477 by the antigen rapid test method, 354 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 27 cases from 405 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 3 cases from 1,899 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 36 cases from 1,518 samples taken through private initiative.
- 219 cases from 40,599 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 69 cases from 21,878 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 234 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 163 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
