No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 588, according to today's announcement by the Ministry of Health. At the same time, as reported by 206 (positivity rate: 0.51%), new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 127,684.

Also 85 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 39 are in serious condition. 64.71% of hospitalized patients do not have a history of vaccination.3 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.    A total of 40,298 tests have been performed with the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.

Today's results are detailed.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 588, of which:

  • 376 men (64%), and
  • 212 women (36%).

The average age of those voted by the disease is 76 years.

B. Hospitalized:

In total, 85 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 39 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 39 patients who are in serious condition, 11 are intubated, two are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 26 are in an Increased Care Unit.

Γ. Θετικά περιστατικά COVID-19 (PCR test και rapid test αντιγόνου):

Of the 40,298 diagnoses made, 3,598 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 36,700 by the antigen rapid test method, 206 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 6 cases from 307 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
  • 2 cases from 1,938 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
  • 15 cases from 991 samples taken through private initiative.
  • 7 cases from 94 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 2 cases from 268 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Doctors and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 66 cases from 16,741 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 108 cases from 19,959 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
