No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 575, according to today's announcement by the Ministry of Health. At the same time, as stated in the announcement, 188 (positivity rate: 0.38%) were identified from the molecular tests (PCR) and the antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 125,161.
Also, 67 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 24 are in serious condition. 68.36% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination. 4 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units. A total of 49,068 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
Today's results are detailed.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 575, of which:
- 367 men (64%), and
- 208 women (36%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.1 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 67 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 24 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 24 patients who are in serious condition, six are intubated, two are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 16 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 49,068 diagnoses performed, 3,840 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 45,228 by the antigen rapid test method, 188 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 27 cases from 489 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 6 cases from 1,403 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 24 cases from 1,490 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 5 cases from 235 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1 case from 223 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Doctors and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
- 78 cases from 21,219 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 47 cases from 24,009 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
