 No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 574, according to a statement from the health ministry.

61 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 20 are in serious condition. 62.3% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.

6 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.

A total of 38,554 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.

112 (positivity rate: 0.29%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 124,444.

Today's results are detailed.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 574, of which:

- 366 men (64%), and

- 208 women (36%).

The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.1 years.

B. Hospitalized:

In total, 61 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 20 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 20 patients who are in serious condition, five are intubated, three are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 12 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 38,554 diagnoses performed, 4,360 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 34,194 by the antigen rapid test method, 112 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 5 cases from 203 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
  • 6 cases from 2,875 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
  • 11 cases from 935 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 1 case from 86 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 2 cases from 261 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Doctors and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 33 cases from 14,906 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 54 cases from 19,288 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
