Filenews 2 October 2021
From Monday, October 4, at 9 a.m., the Vaccination Portal will be available to arrange an appointment for vaccination with a 3rd dose, which will be processed from Wednesday, October 6. The Ministry of Health has so far administered a booster dose to 12,100 people through various procedures (through mobile units, free-attendance vaccination centres, vaccinations in hospitals, etc.).
As part of the continuation of the process of increasing the immune response, the Ministry of Health shall inform that the following are being implemented:
· From Monday, October 4, at 9 a.m., the Vaccination Portal will be available to arrange an appointment for vaccination with a 3rd dose, which will be processed from Wednesday, October 6.
· From Monday, October 4, people aged 80 years and older will have the possibility for vaccination with a 3rd dose.
· On Monday and Tuesday, 4-5 October, vaccinations with a 3rd dose will continue through the walk-in vaccination centres for people aged 80 years and over. The walk-in centres are open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
· Beneficiaries who have completed their initial vaccination abroad and are aged 80 years or over, will not currently be able to arrange an appointment for a 3rd dose through the Vaccination Portal. These people can contact the walk-in vaccination centres, operating in all provinces, from Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It is recalled that for the 3rd dose, a mRNA vaccine is administered. Citizens who come to the Vaccination Centres must provide proof of identification (IDENTITY Card, Passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.), as well as their vaccination card. Please ensure 6 months has elapsed since your 2nd vaccination.
Finally, it is clarified that, from 4 to 14 October, due to technical upgrades to the Vaccination Portal, there will be no possibility to arrange an appointment for the 1st dose. Citizens who wish to be vaccinated with a 1st dose can be vaccinated at the free-attendance vaccination centres.
By September 30, 81% of the adult population received at least the 1st dose of the vaccine and 78.1% completed their vaccination regimen. Regarding people 16-17 years of age, the percentage of those vaccinated with at least the 1st dose reached 41.1% and 37.1% have received all 2 doses of the vaccine. In the age group of 12-15 years, at least 26.5% received the 1st dose, while 21.8% completed their vaccination regimen.
