The initiative of the Community Council of Xylofagou to place a fake oversized potato at the entrance of the community to emphasize that Xylofagou is a potato village, created confusion among the public, and caused a variety of reactions on social media.
Some perceived the fake potato as... true, others wondered if it was fake news, while many found an opportunity for trolling.
As we were told, the potato is decorative and is located at the entrance of Xylofagos (Larnaka - Ayia Napa motorway).
