The planning of the Municipality of Pafos for the School of Tourism Professions is progressing rapidly, following the recent official decision of the Senate and the Pafos Municipal Council. In this context, the Municipality of Pafos and SODAP already had the first meeting with the aim of finalizing the agreement for the construction of student dormitories on the plot owned by SODAP, which until a few days ago was located in the old Pafos ice factory.
The area is located next to the piece of land on which the school's facilities will be erected, in front of the church of Panagia Pantanassa and is considered ideal for this purpose.
In his statements after the meeting, the Mayor of Pafos stressed that a positive attitude to this planning was evident during the meeting on the part of the Sodap Council. However, it is required, clarified Phaedon Phaedon, a series of procedures to be followed in order to finalize the agreement and announced that in this context the municipal authority and SODAP will be in close contact in order for the effort to be successfully concluded.
The talks between the Municipality of Pafos and SODAP for the exploitation of the part of the wine industry for this purpose, take place on the basis of the construction of building facilities of 3000 sq. m. which are estimated to be completed within a period of more than 13 months from the beginning of the construction works.
The President of the Sodap Committee, Andreas Pirpas, also spoke of a meeting in a positive atmosphere and stressed that the organization appears willing to use its specific asset for the construction of student dormitories, with the aim of giving a new breath to Pafos.
