On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Saturday, September 18, 2021 and for a period of about three (3) months, at kornos I/C, construction works will be carried out for the new exit from Kornos to the motorway, towards Limassol. During the works, the left lane, after the Kornos exit on the motorway, towards Limassol, will be closed for 400m. approximately and the traffic to Limassol will be channelled to the right lane.
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday, April 14, 2021, works will be carried out to improve the Kornos I/C. The works will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for the entrance to the motorway from Kornos/ Pyrga to Nicosia and for the exit from Limassol to Kornos/ Pyrga,and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/Pyrga to Limassol.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Monday 9/8/2021 and for a period of about two (2) months, at kornos I/C, works will be carried out to improve the existing entrance from Kornos to the motorway towards Nicosia. During the works, the entrance from Kornos to the motorway towards Nicosia will be closed and traffic to Nicosia will be channelled to Sia I/C via the old Nicosia-Limassol road.
Works on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway will also be carried out on the section from the height of the G.S.P. roundabout to the exit to the Alampra, during the period 28/9/2021 - 28/10/2021,except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, between the hours of 09:00 - 14:00, for the replacement of street lighting in both directions of the motorway. During the works, in each direction, the right lane will be closed at a distance of about two kilometres and traffic will be channelled to the other traffic lanes.
On the Larnaka-Paralimni motorway, during the period 5/10/2021–10/10/2021,between the hours of 08:00 – 14:30, cleaning works will be carried out on the foundations on either side of the central islet, using a self-propelled sweeper broom. During the works, the right lane will be partially closed and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.
On the Larnaka-Kofinou motorway, during the period 22/9/2021 – 2/10/2021,between the hours of 08:30 – 17:00, including weekends, except on holidays, road lighting maintenance works will be carried out on sections of the road next to the Kofinou roundabout and the adjacent exits of the Larnaca District. During the works, one lane of traffic, 1500m, will be partially closed. approximately every time, and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.
Also on the Larnaka-Kofinou motorway, during the period 3/10/2021 -7/10/2021,between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, road lighting maintenance works will be carried out in sections next to the Kofinou roundabout and the adjacent exits of the Larnaca District. During the works, one lane of traffic 1500m will be partially closed. approximately every time and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.
Also, during the period 4/10/2021–15/10/2021, between the hours of 08:00 – 15:00, daily except weekends, tree pruning works will be carried out on the foot of the road by the Department of Forests. During the works, the left lane will be partially closed to a length of 500m. approximately, from the exit to Alethriko up to the exit to Anglesides, heading towards Kofinou. Traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.
In Nicosia district, from Monday 19/4/21 and for a period of 6 months, except Saturday, Sunday and holidays, between the hours of 07:00–17:00, road repair works will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the works, one lane will be partially closed at a length of about 200 meters and the movement of traffic will take place in the other lane, using the "STOP &GO" signage.
In Limassol, during the period 20/9/2021 - 7/10/2021,except Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, from 21:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, on the Limassol bypass road, in the section from the Yermasoyia roundabout to the exit to the Kourris Dam, works will be carried out by a private company to replace safety parapets. During the works, the right lane will be closed at any time at a length of 1000m. approximately and the traffic will be transferred to the left lane.
In Larnaca, on Piale Pasia Street,on Monday 4/10/2021,between the hours of 8:00 – 15:00, culvert cleaning works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, Piale Pasia Street, from its beginning, heading from the Medieval Castle to the Mackenzie area, until its junction with Istiletal Street, will be closed and traffic will be channelled through adjacent roads.
Also in Larnaca, during the period 4/10/2021 – 19/10/2021,between the hours of 08:00 – 19:00, daily except weekends, on Nikos and Despina Pattichi Avenue,cleaning and pruning works of the central islet will be carried out by the Municipality of Larnaka. During the works, the tangent lane of the central islet from both directions will be partially closed in parts at a length of 500m. approximately every time and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.
In Famagusta, from 22/9/2021 at 07:00 in the morning, until 10/10/2021 at 17:00 in the afternoon, on the road Liopetri - Xylofagou, construction works of water pipelines will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, part of the one lane of the road in the direction from Liopetri to Xylofagou, at two points, partially, 100 meters long each, will be closed and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane with the use of a traffic light system.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the context of the construction works of the Vasilikos Energy Centre Road Network, during the period 24/4/2021-23/10/2021,the eastern road that connects the old Nicosia-Limassol road with the port of Vasilikos will be closed to traffic police. During the works, traffic to and from Vassilikos will be channelled to the corresponding western road, through Mari, except for vehicles and pedestrians moving to and from roadside properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made.
Also, on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 23/08/2021 – 15/10/2021,daily except Sundays and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 16:00, construction works of water pipelines will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the works, part of the one lane of traffic, the road, from the 'Choirokoitia Reservoir' to the pumping station of the T.A.Y. in Kofinou, in the direction to Kofinou,will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of about 850 meters) and the movement of traffic will take place in the adjacent lane, using temporary traffic lights.
On the road Karvounia – Kyperounta,in the area of the Community Council of Kyperounta, during the period 6/9/2021 – 15/10/2021,between the hours of 07:30 – 17:00, daily except weekends and holidays, works will be carried out by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus to increase the electricity load of the Troodos Regional Hospital. During the works, one lane of 100m length will be partially closed at any time. approximately every time and traffic will be managed alternately with temporary traffic lights, which will remain in operation and outside working hours.
