The avoidance of any appeals for the road repair project near Giolou, which collapsed two years ago, is confirmed by two sides, creating optimism that we are now one step away from the repair of this serious problem.
Both the MP of Pafos of DISY, Charalambos Pazaros, and the MP of Pafos of DIKO, Chrysanthos Savvidis, announced today this positive development.
Mr. Pazaros mentioned that after his communication with the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, he was informed that this time no appeal was registered for the repair of the road by Giolou.
"Within the next few days the relevant contracts will be signed and according to the plan we set during the recent meeting I had in Nicosia with the minister and with the director of Public Works, it is estimated that the works will be completed in about 4 months after the signing of the contracts," he said.
Mr. Savvidis, on his part, announced that in a telephone conversation he had with Yiannis Karousos, he was informed that there was no appeal to the Revisionary Authority for the road by Giolou.
"The arduous struggles of two years are vindicated and we are pleased to announce that the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works proceeds tomorrow to the signing of contracts for immediate repair of the road by Giolou", he concluded.
