The British MP of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party who was stabbed multiple times with a knife inside a church by a man who stormed a meeting with voters from his constituency has died.
The 69-year-old MP, representing Southend West, Essex (eastern England), was attacked with a knife around noon during a meeting at the Methodist Belfairs church.
Police said a man was arrested after the attack and is not looking for any other suspects in connection with the incident.
The MP's office confirmed that David Amess was attacked with a knife but gave no other information.
However, the Member left his last breath! "He received many blows with a knife," John Lamb, a local alderman at the scene, told Reuters. Footage from a helicopter broadcast by the Sky News network shows armed police officers outside the church as well as ambulances.
