Although no official information has yet been released on the plan of the Ministry of Energy regarding the subsidy of the replacement of old - energy-intensive electrical appliances by vulnerable households, the information of "F" says that the competent service is preparing the relevant plan, which in November will be announced and will be opened for applications.
The same information indicates that, eventually, vulnerable households (i.e. those that fall under EAC's tariff 08, with a 20% discount on the electricity bill) will be able to replace refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners.
Although nothing can be considered definitive, for the time being the proposal to give the opportunity to beneficiaries - they will be able to replace up to five devices, with a total state grant of up to €1,000 per beneficiary. In particular, the plan will most likely cover the replacement of three air conditioners and two other appliances (refrigerator or washing machine or both).
If the information that the Ministry of Energy wants to have €5 million in the first phase of the project is confirmed, it will not be necessary to do so. As well as the information on a maximum grant of €1,000 per beneficiary, it follows that the project will benefit at least 5,000 households.
Provided that the category of vulnerable is estimated to fall between 12 and 15,000 households (the number of persons - potential beneficiaries is about 38-40,000), it follows that in order to be served with sponsorship, the plan should be re-announced shortly.
The technocrats, however, estimate that the exploitation of the project will bring significant energy and money savings (as much better energy efficiency devices are now available on the market), something that anticipates the great and substantial success of the program.
