UPDATE ON NUMBERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED 3rd VACCINE - AND REMINDER FOR 83+ GROUP FOR MONDAY 27th September

Intensive vaccination continues with the booster / 3rd dose against the coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Health, so far, 6,615 people have received the 3rd dose nationwide.  Through mobile units, 2,506 residents and staff have been vaccinated in nursing homes. Of the vulnerable groups that have been prioritized for vaccination with a 3rd dose, 1,225 people were vaccinated, after a telephone call.

In relation to the health professionals, 1,102 employees of the Organization, 21 health professionals in private hospitals and 404 other private health professionals in the Vaccination Centres were vaccinated in the hospitals of the CySEC after an appointment that was arranged by telephone.

At the same time, since Wednesday, September 22nd, when the vaccination with the 3rd dose began based on age, 1,357 citizens (86+) were vaccinated in all provinces.

Beneficiaries for vaccination with a booster dose through the walk-in centres are those citizens who have completed their vaccination regimen (vaccination with the 2nd dose of the vaccine) by March 31, 2021 and fall into the age group announced each time. It is recalled that from tomorrow, 27 September, the administration of the 3rd dose at the free-attendance vaccination centres will begin for people aged 83 years and over.

The following Vaccination Centres operate for the administration of the booster dose from Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm.

  • Nicosia: State Fair Centre B' Health Center of Latsia
  • Limassol: Spyros Kyprianou Centre B' Health Center of Linopetra
  • Larnaca: Port Centre B'
  • Paphos: Paphos General Hospital
  • Famagusta: Famagusta General Hospital

Citizens must present to the Vaccination Centres an identification document (ID card, passport, alien registration card, etc.), as well as their vaccination card.
