Investigations by both the Police and the PIS are in full swing into the behaviour of doctors towards patients in relation to the coronavirus. The Police are examining a total of seven cases of doctors, either for issuing fake SafePass or for cases related to the treatment of coronavirus patients. At the same time, complaints or reports about doctors who administer or advise patients with the virus to take a combination of drugs or vitamins instead of being hospitalized, is also investigated by the PIS.
The Police, who are investigating with prosecutorial instructions reports of a "charlatan doctor", in connection with the death of a 46-year-old man, began taking statements and it is expected that in the coming days they will call people close to his family to inform and take testimonies. The research will be extended to the entire spectrum of the case, from the time he became ill until the time he was taken to the hospital. Also, the doctor who was watching him will be called to give testimony and report any preparations he was given.
According to a complaint, the 46-year-old family man had been influenced by a certain doctor. As a friend of the deceased claimed in his testimony to the Police, the 46-year-old had been late to be taken to the hospital and was receiving medical advice from the doctor in question. It is noted that for this doctor there were also complaints to the Pancyprian Medical Association. Similar complaints to the PIS exist for other doctors who are examined by the Ethics Committee of the Association.
Meanwhile, both blood tests by the Institute of Neurology and Genetics from 14 persons, as well as the recovery of a person from coronavirus, are with the investigators at the Larnaka IWT, in connection with the investigations for the issuance of fake vaccination certificates by a doctor. Blood tests on 14 persons registered in the system that have been vaccinated by the same doctor will show whether they have been given doses of AstraZeneca.
It is noted that investigations are also being carried out for doctors in Paphos and Limassol, with no result so far.
