ROAD SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S BUSINESS

Road safety is everyone's business

The Police, watching with sadness the new fatal road accident that occurred at dawn today, appeals to

everyone to help their effort so that we do not mourn other victims on the asphalt.

It calls on all drivers of motor vehicles to be very careful when using the road network and to strictly comply

with the Highway Code. At the same time, special attention is paid in particular to offences which, without

any doubt, are factors that can lead to serious or fatal road collisions, such as: speeding, driving under

the influence of alcohol or addictive substances, driving without a protective helmet by motorcyclists, using

a mobile phone, driving without a seat belt.

In addition, when driving we must remember that:

· We should not drive if we have consumed alcoholic beverages or taken addictive substances

· We must always wear a seat belt/ protective helmet

· We must not exceed the speed limit for our own safety, that of our fellow passengers and other road users

· We do not overtake irregularly

· We do not violate traffic lights

· We do not talk on our mobile phone while driving

· We give priority to pedestrians

· We place children in child seats or in the back seat of the car in accordance with the Legislation

· We drive in the left lane of the road, unless we overtake

· We respect the signals and suggestions of the on-duty police officers

It is noted that the Police are daily at the forefront of the struggle to reduce serious and fatal road collisions,

but ROAD SAFETY IS A MATTER FOR ALL OF US. It concerns us all.
