A case of circulation of counterfeit notes is being investigated by the Pafos IAF. According to the Assistant Police Director of Pafos, Michalis Ioannou, it was reported by a bank employee that during the collection of a sum of money from a beach hotel, two €200 banknotes were found, which are strongly suspected to be counterfeit.
These were received by the Police and will be sent for scientific examinations, he stressed, while preliminary it seems that they were not accepted by the banknote counting machine.
On this occasion, Mr. Ioannou appealed to the public to be particularly careful in his dealings.
The examinations are continuing by the Pafos Crime Detection Department.
