In their limits are the last days the shopkeepers near the pier of Kato Pafos and the visitors of the area, from the unbearable, as they claim, stench that comes out of the culverts in the area.
For several days now, owners of recreation centres have been complaining that the coastal avenue of Kato Pafos is literally alive, in the section from the Municipal Bathrooms up to the entrance of the land area of the port, from the stench of the culverts. This intolerable situation, they said, has provoked in recent evenings the strong protests of tourists who are in the tourist units of the region.
"We appealed to the Municipality of Paphos for this situation, appealing to them to intervene immediately to stop this situation," they said. "The Municipality of Pafos, however, has told us that the issue of culverts is not its responsibility, but the SAPA.
We also contacted the SAPA who assured us that it would look into the matter. Unfortunately, to this day, the situation remains just as bad, with the protests of tourists, visitors, and workers in the area growing."
