FIRST QUEUES OF VEHICLES AT PETROL STATIONS IN BRITAIN

 Filenews 24 September 2021

Since the morning, reports and images on the internet of queues forming at petrol stations by vehicles have been increasing, despite assurances from the government and the energy industry to drivers that there are no fuel shortages.

The panic that tends to build up, however, and explains the queues, has arisen following the announcements by BP, Esso and Tesco companies that they cannot refuel some of their petrol stations due to a lack of tanker drivers.

In the climate of concern that has been created, as the lack of lorry drivers has also led to food shortages on the shelves of shops, the relevant ministers have an emergency meeting in the afternoon.

The topic of discussion is expected to be whether foreign heavy-duty vehicle drivers should be offered an emergency temporary work visa to fill some of the tens of thousands of job vacancies in Britain.
