Although from very early on it had announced that it would not receive grapes from the 2021 harvest, due to the situation created by the advent of the pandemic and the problems that have arisen in the disposal of the wines of the previous harvests, the SODAP Committee, with great excess of the possibilities available, has decided to receive grapes from the 2021 harvest, prices and terms announced today.
In this decision, the Agency's communication states, TEMPO Israel's decision to buy very large quantities of Red and White Sulphur Must (Kosher) from the SODAP for its needs in Israel has greatly helped and in this way to assist both the SODAP and the winegrowers in making available the grapes of this year's harvest.
"The additional sponsorship to the Wineries, decided by the Ministry of Agriculture, and approved by the Council of Ministers last Friday 30 July and which is expected to receive approval from the competent bodies of the European Commission, has also been greatly assisted," stresses SODAP. "The dilemma was that the SODAP, mainly due to lack of space but also economic capacity, would not receive any grapes or proceed with the receipt at reduced prices, which would not threaten the viability of the organization".
Under these circumstances, the Commission and the Directorate of the Agency will proceed, again this year, to receive grapes from the 2021 harvest, and to serve once again the wine-growing members of the SODAP.
Finally, it should be noted that a safe pass is a prerequisite for entering the winery.
