An alarm has been sounded at Kabul airport, Afghanistan, following a shooting incident.
According to information from the Russian RT network, at least one member of the Afghan security forces guarding the airport was killed after a shooting, and three more have been injured. As announced by the German army, the perpetrators are "unknown".
It is recalled that the United States and Germany warned their nationals in Afghanistan to avoid Kabul airport due to security threats in the region.
At least 20 people have been killed in and around a single runway since last Sunday, both NATO and Taliban officials said.
Missing children
At the same time, more and more children appear to be missing and have since been missing amid the chaos at Kabul airport, according to local media reports.
The Afghan television network Ariana reported that a family from Kabul has taken care of a child who had gone missing and found him trapped in the barbed wire that surrounds the airport complex. Despite their efforts, they have not been able to locate the child's parents, the family says. The boy, aged about 6, said his family went to the airport in an attempt to leave the country. His father apparently fell in the midst of the crowd and the child has not seen any of his parents since that moment.
Afghan journalists also report that many are posting pictures of children missing at the airport.
