On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday 14 April, 2021 work will be carried out to improve the Kornos junction. The work will take 15months and concerns on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for entry to the motorway from Korno/Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno/Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/Pyrga to Limassol.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, during the period 27/7/2021 - 6/8/2021,outside the weekend, between 08:30 and 14:00, horizontal marking work will be carried out on the section of the motorway from the exit of Pentakomos to the exit of Skarinou. During the work one lane will be closed at any time at a length of 1000m. traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Work on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway will also take place on Thursday 5/8/2021,from 21:00 in the evening until 05:00 in the morning of the following day, for road maintenance in the section of the motorway despite the Kotsiatis junction. During the work the two lanes of traffic, left and middle, heading from Limassol to Nicosia will be closed, in a section of 200m. traffic will be diverted to the right lane.
On the Paphos-Limassol motorway, on Tuesday 3/8/2021 and Wednesday 4/8/2021,between the hours 09:00 – 13:00, in the following sections of the motorway and in the two lanes of traffic, work will be carried out to extract cores for re-testing:
(a) the section between the exits to Agia Varvara and Anarita, in both directions to Limassol and Paphos
(b) in the section from the exit to Petra tou Romiou, in the direction from Paphos to Limassol
During the work, the two lanes will be closed alternately.
In parts of the Larnaca – Kofinou motorway during the period 29/7/2021 – 2/8/2021, daily except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30, watering of the plants of the central islets will be carried out by the Department of Forests. During the work, the tangent lane of the central islet of the motorway will be partially closed, from the "Kalo Chorio" Roundabout to the exit to Kofinou, from one direction for a length of 1500m. approximately, each time, traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In parts of the Larnaca – Paralimni Airport motorway, on Monday 2/8/2021 until Friday 6/8/2021, between the hours 08:30 - 15:00, watering of the plants of the central islets will be carried out by the Department of Forests. During the work, the tangent lane of the central islet of the motorway will be partially closed, from the Rizoelia Roundabout to the exit to Xylophagos, from one direction for a length of 1500m. approximately, each time, traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In Nicosia, on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, from its junction with Limassol Avenue to the Tseri roundabout, from Monday 14/6/2021 until Friday 18/8/2021,from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning, road repair work will be carried out. During the work the left lanes of traffic will be closed in sections about 1000m long, and traffic will be traffic through the limassol, Joseph Joseph and Constantinople avenues to Tseri Avenue.
Also in Nicosia, on Themistocles Dervi Street, on Saturday 31/7/2021,between the hours of 06:00-15:00, work will be carried out on the construction of an apartment building. During the work, the two lanes of Themistoklis Dervi Road, heading from the Gavriilidis traffic lights to Nicosia between the Nikokreon and Tykros lanes, will be closed and traffic will be diverted to one lane in the opposite direction.
Also in Nicosia, on Monday 2/8/2021 between the hours of 08:30 – 13:00 work will be carried out to remove photo-stamping devices on Makarios Avenue at its intersection with Digeni Akrita Avenue, Griva Digenis Avenue with Demosthenes Severis and Limassol Avenue despite its contribution with Athalassa Avenue. During the work it will be partially closed for a distance of about 50m. the left lane in both directions and traffic will be channelled into the right lane.
In nicosia province, from Monday 19/4/21and for a period of 6 months, except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, between the hours of 07:00–17:00, road repair work will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the work, one lane will be partially closed at a length of approximately 200 metres and traffic will be carried out in the other lane, using a "STOP & GO" sign.
In Limassol, during the period from 29/7/2021 to 6/8/2021,in a section of Ilias Kannourou Avenue in Ipson, at a length of 200m. in the earthen base/yard, heading from Upsa to Limassol, pipe installation work will be carried out for the needs of A.H.K. by a private company. During the work, traffic will be carried out normally.
In the limassol province, on the road of Agios Athanasios-Mathikonis,during the period 20/7/2021 – 13/8/2021,between the hours 07:00 – 15:30, daily outside weekends, work will be carried out on the construction of walls by a private Contracting Company. During the work, one 100m-long lane will be partially closed at any time. approximately each time and traffic will be managed alternately with temporary traffic lights.
On the old Nicosia-Limassolroad, as part of the construction work of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Centre, during the period 24/4/2021-23/10/2021,the eastern road connecting the old Nicosia-Limassol road with vasilikos port will be closed to traffic. During the work, traffic to and from Vasilikos will be diverted to the corresponding western road, via Marie, except for vehicles and pedestrians moving to and from similar properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road also, during the period 21/06/2021–13/08/2021 daily except weekends and public holidays, between the hours 07:00 – 16:00, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of the road, from the "Pig Tank" to the pumping station of the TY in Kofinou towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of about 850 meters) and traffic will be traffic in the adjacent lane, using temporary traffic lights.
