 Filenews 12 August 2021

On the basis of the decisions of the Council of Ministers, dated 30 July, and with a view to intercepting the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, from 1 August in the places where access requires safepass possession, persons aged 12 years and over must meet one of the following conditions:

  2. Proof that a person has been sick with COVID-19 disease in the last 6 months.

According to the Decision of the Council of Ministers, dated 2 July, from 1 August, only the following categories of citizens may be served in the rapid test mobile units:

  • Minors up to 17 years old. It is understood that children aged 12-17 years, who do not have the consent of their parents/legal guardians for vaccination, may carry out a free rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
  • Persons aged 18 years and over who cannot be vaccinated  holding a medical certificate, and after their request has been examined by the Cyprus Medical Association and the Ministry of Health and approved, which must be presented to the sampling unit.
  • Pregnant women, who cannot for medical reasons undergo vaccination, with the necessary approval from the ad hoc committee of the Cyprus Medical Association and the Ministry of Health, issued after evaluation of a request that they must submit with the necessary medical certificates by their Gynaecologist.
  • People who have been vaccinated with the 1st dose of the vaccine for the three-week period to be tested as a condition for SafePass. For verification purposes, the Vaccination Card should be presented.
  • People who have completed their vaccination regimen but wish to undergo tests for health monitoring purposes or for other reasons. It is understood that the Vaccination Card must be presented.
  • Persons holding a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 disease within the last 180 days but wishing to undergo tests for health monitoring purposes or for other reasons. It is understood that the recovery certificate must be presented.

In addition to the above evidence, it is recalled that all citizens must necessarily provide proof of identity (e.g. ID, Driver's License, Passport, etc.) for identification purposes.
