The prices of alcoholic beverages in Cyprus were slightly higher than the European average in 2020, according to data published by the EU Statistical Office (Eurostat).
Although we could say that Cyprus belongs to the most expensive countries as far as alcohol is concerned, this is not the case. A typical example is that in 2020, the price of alcoholic beverages across the EU was more than two and a half times higher in the most expensive Member State compared to the cheapest. This puts Cyprus in 16th place among the Member States.
When price levels are compared with the eu-100 average price index, the results show that the price of spirit drinks (spirits, wine and beer) was the highest in Finland (with a price level index of 193), followed by Ireland ( 181) and Sweden (166).
