Two people died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 421, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
288 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 82 are in serious condition. 91.13% of nurses have no history of vaccination.
A total of 94,279 molecular (PCR) and antigen rapid test tests have been carried out, of which 527 new cases of the disease have been identified.
A significant drop was recorded in the positivity rate, which amounts to 0.56%, while another 9 incidents were recorded in nursing homes.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The two people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- Male, aged 68, who ended up yesterday in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Man, aged 82, who ended up today at Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 421, of which:
- 276 men (66%), and
- 145 women (34%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77.2 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 288 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 82 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 82 patients in serious condition, 39 are intubated, two are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 41 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 94,279 diagnoses currently carried out, 7,227 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 87,052 using the antigen rapid test, 527 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 5 cases from 508 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 8 cases of 2,570 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 48 cases out of 3,729 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 9 cases from 265 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 155 samples taken under the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
- 35 cases from 2,688 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 420 cases from 84,364 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
