On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday 14 April, 2021 work will be carried out to improve the Kornos junction. The work will take 15months and concerns on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for entry to the motorway from Korno/Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno/Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/Pyrga to Limassol.
On the Limassol-Paphos motorway, from Monday 12/7/2021 until Friday 30/7/2021 between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30, work will be carried out to install reflective fertilisers on the safety stage of the main islet of the road, in the section from the Colosseum exit to Petra tou Romiou. During the work the right lane will be partially closed at a length of 1000m. in only one direction at any time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In Nicosia, on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, from its junction with Limassol Avenue to the Tseri roundabout, from Monday 14/6/2021 until Friday 18/8/2021,from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning, road repair work will be carried out. During the work the left lanes of traffic will be closed in sections about 1000m long, and traffic will be traffic through the limassol, Joseph Joseph and Constantinople avenues to Tseri Avenue.
Also in Nicosia,on Makarios Avenue, from the confluence of the Kennedy Avenue lights to the junction with the traffic lights of National Guard Street, on Saturday 24/7/2021 at 05:00 in the morning until 05:00 on Monday morning 26/7/2021,all lanes will be closed due to works to replace pipelines of the Nicosia Water Supply Council. Drivers heading to the city centre are encouraged to use Armenia Avenue to get to their destination while drivers heading to Limassol are encouraged to use Karpenisi Street. Drivers from Kennedy Avenue west to east are kindly requested to also use Karpenisiou Street for the city centre while on the way to Limassol to use Stasinou Avenue. Also the National Guard Road will be closed completely so drivers from Kallipolis Street are kindly requested to use the above detours to get to their destination.
In Nicosia province, from Monday 19/4/21and for a period of 6 months, except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, between the hours of 07:00–17:00, road repair work will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the work, one lane will be partially closed at a length of approximately 200 metres and traffic will be carried out in the other lane, using a "STOP & GO" sign.
In the Limassol province, on the road of Agios Athanasios-Mathikonis, during the period 20/7/2021 – 13/8/2021,between the hours 07:00 – 15:30, daily outside weekends, work will be carried out on the construction of walls by a private Contracting Company. During the work, one 100m-long lane will be partially closed at any time. approximately each time and traffic will be managed alternately with temporary traffic lights.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, as part of the construction work of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Centre, during the period 24/4/2021-23/10/2021,the eastern road connecting the old Nicosia-Limassol road with vasilikos port will be closed to traffic. During the work, traffic to and from Vasilikos will be diverted to the corresponding western road, via Marie, except for vehicles and pedestrians moving to and from similar properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made.
Also on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 27/05/2021-30/07/2021 daily outside weekends, between the hours 07:00-16:00, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines, by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of traffic, the old Nicosia-Limassol road, from the 'Stavrovouni Reservoir'to the pumping station of the TAV in Kofinou, heading towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of 650 meters, approximately) and traffic will be traffic in the next lane, using temporary traffic lights.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road also, during the period 21/06/2021–13/08/2021 daily except weekends and public holidays, between the hours 07:00 – 16:00, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of the road, from the "Pig Tank" to the pumping station of the TY in Kofinou towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of about 850 meters) and traffic will be traffic in the adjacent lane, using temporary traffic lights.
On a section of the old Limassol-Nicosia road, despite the Monastery junction, work continues on the construction/installation of a pipeline for the needs of the SALA, by a private company. The work will last until Friday 30/7/2021 and will take place from 7:00am. until 4:00pm, daily except Sundays and public holidays. During the work, the northern traffic lane towards Nicosia will be partially closed at a length of 120m. approximately, traffic will be diverted to the southbound lane and traffic will be managed with temporary traffic lights.
