Following the approval of the funds by the State for the painting of the great neoclassical buildings in the historic centre of Paphos, the municipal authority also completed for its part the most necessary preparations for the undertaking of the project and for decisions as to how to paint the buildings and it is expected that within days the project will begin.
The Municipal Council of Paphos, which has been dealing with the issue since the beginning of December, has entrusted the preselection of colour to a committee operating under the umbrella of the Municipality, under the title "Aesthetic Control Committee", which also includes municipal officials and individuals related to issues of architecture and urban planning.
The approved budget concerns the direct illumination of the 1st Primary School, as well as the painting of the buildings of the 2nd Primary School, the 1st Primary School, the former Nikolaidis Gymnasium and the 1st Lyceum, the Ministry of Education has approved and sent to the municipal authority for this purpose a budget of €150.000.
