While nothing can overcome the tragedy of the loss of four people, at the same time the material damage from the deadly fire is incalculable.
Eighty homes and premises suffered extensive destruction in the nine villages hit by the nightmare of the fire. This shows the first elements of the damage log, which is in progress, and it is estimated that the total cost of the disaster will amount to many millions when the damage to crops and EAC and other services is calculated.
According to the crews of the Limassol and Larnaca provincial administrations, most of the houses damaged are located in the province of Larnaca and range to 60, with the most losses recorded in Ora, where 37 houses were registered. In Melini about 15 houses, in Agios Vavatsinias 4 and Vavatsinia 2, in Arakapas 10 houses were damaged and in Eptagoneia 11. In the province of Larnaca, a poultry farm was also burned, where 80,000 chickens were burned at four breeding sites.
