CORONAVIRUS - WALK-IN VAX CENTRE OPERATING IN PAPHOS ON SATURDAY

A walk-in vaccination centre will operate at the former residence of the Paphos district officer from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm on Saturday to facilitate members of the public wishing to receive the coronavirus jab without booking an appointment.

The premises are also used for rapid tests.

Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantelas, accompanied by Paphos Mayor Phedon Phedonos and Paphos Bishop Yeorgios will officially launch the operation of the centre at 11.00 am, Paphos Municipality said in an announcement.

Walk-in vaccination centres are currently only open for people registered with Gesy. They do not offer second jabs for people who have already been vaccinated, but only the first dose of the vaccine. For the time being, only the Pfizer/BioNTech.

Everyone must bring ID.

Meanwhile, Ayia Napa Municipality said it too would be operating a walk-in vaccination centre in cooperation with the health ministry next Thursday, July from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm. The centre will operate at the square near Ayia Napa church.

The health minister and Ayia Napa mayor Christos Zannetos will be at the site, the municipality added.
